Things to do at SilverStar in summer
Summer is no longer the quiet season on the mountain. Here is what fills the village from June to September.

What is there to do at SilverStar in summer?
Summer at SilverStar centres on one of Canada’s biggest lift-served bike parks (69 km of downhill trails, 70 km of cross-country trails), gondola sightseeing on weekends, 16 km of hiking trails, Crankworx on the August long weekend, free live music on Saturdays, and the trails of Silver Star Provincial Park. The bike park usually opens in mid-June.

Mountain biking
The bike park has been “built by riders for riders since 1994”: 69 km of downhill trails, 70 km of cross-country trails, 400 dirt jumps, more than 870 berms, 551 m of vertical and the 35 km Beowulf loop. The Comet chair and the gondola carry bikes. Kids 5 and under ride free.
Gondola rides and hiking
- Gondola sightseeing runs Friday to Sunday and on holidays; it is wheelchair accessible and pet-friendly.
- Hiking: 16 km of trails, with four routes from the summit back to the village. Pick up a free hiking trail ticket at the ticket office.
- For kids: the Gnome Roam, the Wildflower Walk and the Bear Byway scavenger hunt.
- Silver Star Provincial Park surrounds the resort, with leashed-dog hiking and views over the Okanagan Valley and the Monashees.

- Summer Music Series: free live music on Saturdays, presented by Destination SilverStar
- Summer Spectacular, Beer & Cider Fest, Wine Fest, the Polson Artisan Market and the Slay the Dragon race
Staying for the summer
Two campgrounds opened recently, the Village Campground and Upper BX Creek Campground off Silver Star Road, and the lodges stay open. For owners, summer bookings now matter to rental income. See rental rules and income.
