How far is SilverStar from Vernon?
SilverStar Mountain Resort is 22 km (about 20 minutes) northeast of Vernon on Silver Star Road. From Highway 97 in Vernon, turn onto 48th Avenue, which becomes Silver Star Road. It is about 55 minutes (65 km) from Kelowna International Airport, 1 hour 40 minutes from Kamloops and about 5 hours (441 km) from Vancouver.

Winter driving
- Silver Star Road is a Class A road, the top priority for winter maintenance. AIM Roads clears it and the resort roads (24/7 line 1-866-222-4204).
- Use tires with the mountain/snowflake symbol or M+S and at least 3.5 mm of tread. BC’s winter tire season on designated highways runs October 1 to March 31, and four-wheel drive doesn’t exempt you.
- Don’t park on resort roads during snow clearing; cars can be towed.
Ski bus, shuttles and getting around
- North Okanagan Ski Bus (A1 Bus Company, 250-550-4272) runs weekends and some holidays once the alpine opens. It picks up at Vernon’s Village Green Mall at 8:00 a.m. (with stops from Salmon Arm, Enderby and Armstrong), arrives at 8:30 and leaves the resort at 4:10 p.m. 2026/27 fares: $30.99 one way, $47.99 return, plus tax.
- From YLW: Signature Connections runs daily shared shuttles to your door; Kelowna Concierge (250-863-4213) offers private cars.
- In the village: a free winter shuttle loops about every 30 minutes, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
